ICU baby returned to Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., for Hill Day which is an event to raise awareness for the needs of NICU families. ICU baby joined the NICU Parent Network and advocates from across the country. Representing ICU baby were Elizabeth Simonton, Leah Jayanetti, Karina Kalb, and Rebecca Dorfman.
During the visit, the team met with the offices of Senator Ashley Moody, Senator Rick Scott, and Representative Maria Elvira Salazar, all Florida lawmakers, to share the challenges families face during and after a NICU stay. These conversations highlighted opportunities for policymakers to strengthen support for parents and improve outcomes for the smallest and most vulnerable patients.
By sharing the voices and experiences of NICU families, ICU baby continues to advocate for meaningful change and ensure the needs of families remain part of the national conversation.
