This Privacy Policy describes how ICU baby, Inc. (collectively, “ICU baby,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information. This Privacy Policy also tells you about your rights and choices with respect to your personal information, and how you can reach us to get answers to your questions.

Information We Collect

We collect information about you in a variety of ways depending on how you interact with us and our websites, mobile application, and services, including:

  • Directly from you when you provide it to us, such as when you register for our programs, donate or volunteer, sign up to receive communications from us, or contact us by phone, email, or otherwise.
  • Automatically through the use of cookies, server logs, and other similar technologies when you interact with our websites, mobile application, and emails.

Contact Information We collect the name, and contact information of families we serve (“Clients”), and our donors and volunteers with whom we may interact. We use this information to contact our clients, volunteers and donors about the resources we provide, opportunities for community involvement and opportunities to donate.
Child Development Information for Access to  ICU baby Support Services When you choose to sign up for support services, we request information including your child’s date of birth, gestational age, gender, weight. We also request information on the primary contact including name, contact information, language preference, race, and ethnicity. We use this information to provide you with services that are tailored to your needs.
Application Information for Access to Certain Resources We accept applications to access some of the resources we offer, such as transportation assistance. When you choose to apply for these services, we collect personal information in these applications, including your contact information, income, marital status and household size, race, and location. We use this information to evaluate applications to receive aid and resources, as well as to facilitate access to these resources.
Baby Book Information Our mobile application includes the Baby Book feature. You have the option to include photos and information such as the care providers for your child, activities and learning you do with your child, updates to your child’s growth, diet, and medications, and any other information about your child or your self that you choose to provide. Please note that this information is stored locally on your device, and ICU baby does not receive or store a copy of this information. We use this information to allow you to access and display a digital Baby Book to track your child’s development. The information you input into the Baby Book features is stored locally on your device.
Cookies and First-Party Tracking “Cookies” are small pieces of information that a website sends to a computer’s hard drive while a website is viewed. We use a temporary cookie when a portion of our website and mobile application, “NEST,” is accessed in some settings. If you have accessed a hospital specific subdomain of this site, and you have input the correct password for that hospital, we will set a temporary cookie to remember your hospital selection. We use this information  to make our website operate efficiently.
Donation Information If you elect to make a donation to ICU baby, we use a third party payment tool to process your donation. Payment information (e.g., credit card number) is collected directly by the third party provider and is subject to that third party provider’s privacy policy. We do not receive a copy of your payment information from the third party provider. However, the third party provider may provide us with other information about your donation, such as your name, contact information, donation amount, and any information that you include regarding the purpose of your donation. We use this information to process and allocate donations, as well as to keep in touch with our donors.
Email Interconnectivity If you receive email from us, we may use certain tools to capture data related to when you open our message, click on any links or banners it contains and make purchases. We use technology to understand how you interact with our communications to you.
Feedback/Support If you provide us feedback or contact us for support we will collect your name and email address, as well as any other content that you send to us in order to reply. We use this information to address and resolve your feedback or issues.
Mailing List When you sign up for one of our mailing lists we collect your email address or postal address. We share information about our opportunities and services with individuals that consent to receive such information.
Surveys When you participate in a survey, we collect information that you provide through the survey. If the survey is provided by a third party service provider, the third party’s privacy policy applies to the collection, use, and disclosure of your information. We use surveys following some of our events and services. Your opinions and experience help us to deliver the best services possible.
Website and Mobile Application Interactions We use technology to monitor how you interact with our website and mobile application. This may include links you click on, features that you use or information that you type into our digital forms. This may also include information about your device or browser, including, with respect to mobile devices, the unique identifying information broadcast from your device when visiting our website and app. We use this information to understand how you interact with our website and mobile application to better improve it, and to understand your preferences and interests in order to select offerings that you might find most useful. We also have an interest in detecting and preventing fraud.
Logs We collect information, including your browser type, operating system, Internet Protocol (IP) address (a number that is automatically assigned to a computer when the internet is used), domain name, click-activity, referring website, and/or a date/time stamp for visitors. We use this information to  monitor our networks and the visitors to our websites.

How We Use Information.

In addition to the purposes and uses described above, we use information in the following ways:

  • To provide our services.
  • To conduct analytics.
  • To send marketing and promotional materials including information relating to our events, services, or fundraising campaigns.
  • To detect and protect against malicious, deceptive, fraudulent, or illegal activity.
  • To debug, identify and repair errors that impair existing intended functionality of our website and services.
  • To comply with our legal or regulatory obligations, to establish or exercise our rights, and to defend against a legal claim.

How We Share Information.

In addition to the specific situations discussed elsewhere in this Privacy Policy, we may disclose personal information in the following situations:

  • Third Party Resource Provides. Some of the resources and services we provide access to are provided by third parties. We may share your information with these third parties to facilitate your access to these resources and services.
  • Service Providers & Vendors. We may share your information with service providers and vendors. Among other things service providers may help us to administer our website and mobile application, conduct surveys, provide technical support, and process donations.
  • Consent-Based Disclosures. We may disclose your information to other third parties when we have your consent or direction to do so. For example, if you allow us to do so, we may provide your contact information to other families who use our services.
  • Other Disclosures. We may disclose information in response to subpoenas, warrants, or court orders, or in connection with any legal process, or to comply with relevant laws. We may also share your information in order to establish or exercise our rights, to defend against a legal claim, to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding possible illegal activities, suspected fraud, safety of person or property, or a violation of our policies, or to comply with your request for the shipment of products to or the provision of services by a third-party intermediary.
  • Mergers or Acquisitions. If we merge with another organization, we will also share information with the organization, including at the negotiation stage.

Your Choices

You can make the following choices about your information:

  • Email Lists. You may choose to provide us with your email address for the purpose of allowing us to send newsletters, surveys, and other promotional materials to you. You can stop receiving promotional emails by following the unsubscribe instructions in emails that you receive. If you decide not to receive promotional emails, we may still send you service related communications.
  • Online Tracking. We do not currently recognize the “Do Not Track” signal.

How We Protect and Retain Information

No method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage, is fully secure. While we use reasonable efforts to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure, we cannot guarantee the security of your personal information. In the event that we are required by law to inform you of a breach to your personal information we may notify you electronically, in writing, or by telephone, if permitted to do so by law.

Third-Party Applications/Websites

For your convenience, we may provide links to websites and other third-party content or services that we do not own or operate. The websites and third-party content to which we link may have separate privacy notices or policies. Please note, we have no control over the privacy practices websites, or services that we do not own. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party website or application for details about such third party’s privacy practices.

Changes To This Privacy Policy

We may change our privacy policy and practices over time. To the extent that our policy changes in a material way, the policy that was in place at the time that you submitted personal information to us will generally govern that information unless we receive your consent to the new privacy policy. Our privacy policy includes an “effective” date. The effective date refers to the date that the current version took effect. You should regularly review this privacy policy for changes.

Children

Our websites and online services are not intended for use by children under the age of 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under age 16, without parental consent.
