When the COVID-19 pandemic kept our parent supporters from meeting families at their babies’ bedsides, ICU baby began our telesupport program to continue to meet the ever growing need for emotional and informational support.
Telesupport allowed us to reach all of the families even if we could not be present in the NICU. But we longed for the physical connection that bedside visits allow. After 21 months of providing only tele-support, we are thrilled to resume our hallmark bedside parent support.
Combining telesupport and bedside support creates a more comprehensive support system for our NICU families. These different touch points allow us to connect with each family when it is best for them, in the way that they need.
