The family lounge in the NICU at Holtz Children’s Hospital has a special new addition with the opening of the Lullaby Library. The library of children’s books is a collaborative project with ICU baby and Our Lady of Lourdes Academy Youth Ambassador Lauren MacNamara.

Building on the success of the first Lullaby Library at South Miami Hospital, Lauren expanded the initiative to Holtz Children’s Hospital, filling the shelves with books in English, Spanish, and Haitian Creole. The response has been overwhelming, with families eagerly taking books home and the shelves quickly needing to be restocked.

The Lullaby Library encourages parents to read, bond, and create meaningful moments with their babies while in the NICU. Together, ICU baby and Lauren are helping make the Family Lounge an even more welcoming space for the NICU families who rely on it each day.
